Prepare to Die- Progress 06/28/2016

There's been a speedbump or two, but some work done.

First off, the final boss has an attack I'm trying to rethink now. Since final boss is, you know, final boss, I gave it a bunch of different attacks; one of them, however, I've had some design issues with, and have been trying to figure out how to approach it, or if it simply needs to be redesigned altogether.
So, basically, the final boss begins charging a huge laser that deals a significant amount of damage to the player. At the same time, multiple little shields spawn around the arena; the player has to shoot them in order to create a protective aura. While sitting in this aura, the player takes no damage from the attack.

This works and all, but you my also see a major design flaw with it- it practically requires knowledge prior to the fight in order to avoid getting completely destroyed. The protective aura does take a shield shape, so I have little doubts that people could figure out that sitting in the aura is harmless, but figuring out to shoot the shield gem that spawns in the first place is where the problem lies. Seeing as several bosses have previously laid mines, it could easily be mistaken for a mine. So if anyone has any ideas on that... well, it'd be helpful, but likely the attack needs to be redone altogether.
Conceptually, its a cool idea, but it also makes little sense for a protective aura to spawn when a monster wants to blast you with a giant laser. So there's that.

Lastly, I'm looking for something that will open up controller support. Keyboard controls are fine... if you're familiar with some more old school games, which most people aren't these days. Keyboard controls will stay obviously, but I imagine most people that play this would prefer controller support. So that's a thing.
